Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book Hullabaloo?
You can phone us directly, on (+44)07766 224 623 or (+44)07979 056 413. Alternatively you can email via the website www.hullabaloo-uk.com.
  • How much does it cost to hire the band?
Prices vary depending on the type of event, the location and the day of the week.
  • For how long will the band play?
We will usually play two sets, both lasting an hour in total. However, depending on the requirements of your event, this can easily be adapted to suit your needs.
  • Once I have booked the band is there anything else I have to hire?
No, we will provide our own high quality sound system and lighting.
  • Do the band have public liability insurance?
Yes we have public liability insurance to the value of ten million pounds for each musician. We also have our equipment PAT tested each year and hold a PAT test certificate.
  • When will the band arrive?
We will arrive at your function 60 minutes before the set up time in order to establish the best route to load in and where best to set up within the room (if this has not been agreed prior to arrival). If you are having a sit down meal with music afterwards, we find it best to set up between the main meal and dessert or after any speeches. We try to arrive close to the event time as this means we are refreshed for the performance.
  • What about setting up the equipment?
It always helps if we can have easy access to the room we are playing in (e.g. a fire door), as we have to unload equipment from our vehicle. It usually takes 40 minutes to set up the equipment and we do not need to do a sound check as we can line check the equipment. This means that there is no noise and we can set up with minimal disruption if your guests are already in the room.
  • What happens when the band is not playing?
We can play CDs through our sound system before we play, during the break and at the end of the evening. If you want to provide your own CDs or ipod with your own play list we will be happy to play this for you through our sound system. We are happy to play CD or Ipod music for 45 minutes after our performance. If you need any longer we would ask you make prior arrangements for this before the event day.
  • Will I have to provide a meal for the band?
This usually depends on the distance and time of the event. Some functions, e.g. Weddings, require us to be present from early evening to late at night, therefore we would ask that a hot main meal be provided for the band.
  • Do I need to provide directions to my event?
    A. Yes please. This is always helpful as you know the local area and can give better directions than, for example, an Internet map provider. It is also a good idea to provide us with a contact number at the venue just in case we need to double check directions. A full post code for the venue address is always required.
  • If I want the band to play a certain song at my function, can they learn it?
We will always try to accommodate any requests for a special song. However, due to our busy schedule we may not always be able to learn a song in time for your event. As an alternative we can play your chosen song on a CD or ipod, provided by you, through our sound system.
  • If the band is playing at my wedding, can I choose a song for the first dance?
Yes, we do have a number of songs in our repertoire that are appropriate. Or we are happy to play the original version through our sound system.
  • I have not seen the band: how can I hear the music?
We recommend that you come along to one of our public gigs as this gives you the opportunity to see what we do live and speak to us in person. All our public gigs are listed on the website, where you can also listen to sound bites.

As professional musicians, we have had years of experience and we rely on good reviews and recommendations. Because of this we will always treat your function and guests with respect. Music is an integral part of any party, wedding or corporate event; with this in mind it is essential that you choose your band carefully.
